Our Partridge Welsummers are bred with care for health, vigor, temperament, and rich brown egg color. This listing includes six (6) carefully selected hatching eggs, collected fresh and handled gently to give you the best possible start.
Partridge Welsummers are a hardy, active breed known for their striking partridge feather patterning, excellent foraging ability, and dependable laying. Eggs are typically large in size, though size may vary depending on the individual hen, and range from warm medium brown to darker brown tones, with some eggs showing light peppering or subtle speckling. Shade, bloom, and appearance may vary depending on the individual hen and lighting, and natural variation is normal and expected.
We breed our Welsummers with a strong focus on autosexing traits, allowing chicks to be sexed at hatch based on down color and pattern. Pullets hatch with a strong, continuous dark stripe running from the beak, through the eye (often referred to as eyeliner), and down the back, often showing a defined triangular head marking and darker overall down. Cockerels hatch lighter in appearance, with fuzzier or less defined markings, typically showing faint or absent eyeliner and a lighter, broken, or less distinct head and back stripe.
Our birds are bred intentionally for productivity, egg color, and flock usefulness, with an ongoing effort to move our line closer to SOP over time. They are not sold as show or exhibition quality birds, but they are well suited for breeders and hobbyists working with home flocks or small-scale breeding programs.
All eggs are collected daily, stored properly prior to shipment or pickup, and come from healthy, well-maintained breeding stock.
While fertility is monitored, hatch rates and final outcomes can never be guaranteed due to factors beyond our control once eggs leave the homestead, including shipping conditions, incubation practices, and individual incubators. By purchasing hatching eggs, you acknowledge the inherent risks involved and understand that no hatch or fertility guarantees are offered.
Perfect for breeders and hobbyists looking to add a hardy, autosexing brown-egg layer with excellent foraging ability and naturally varied egg color to their flock.
